The Hope for Tomorrow Medical Mission Team is comprised of professionals with a broad spectrum of experiences. The combined mission trips of our team span across North America, South America, South Africa, and South East Asia, bringing a variety of general and specialized disciplines to each region.
In March 2005, the Hope for Tomorrow Medical Mission Team collaborated with the World Health Ambassador Program, a program under the Vietnamese America Medical Association, for a medical mission trip to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. While in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, the team visited six villages. In total, the team treated 2500 patients. This includes performing 1700 medical examination and treatments and conducting 500 dental procedures.
In November 2005, the HOPE Team hosted a Medical Mission to Da Nang, Vietnam and provided necessary treatments to over 2700 students from first grade to fifth grade. The team performed over 1500 dental procedures and 500 medical examinations and treatments at 5 schools. In addition, the team successfully conducted public health and hygiene classes for the 2700 students and 200 parents. School Principals from each school can vouch for our team's effectiveness and efficiency on site.
At this time, HOPE is planning a medical mission trip to Vietnam. The team will focus on delivering healthcare to school children and adults at several sites throughout the Mekong Delta region.
The purposes of the Medical Mission are:
To provide acute dental and medical care
To provide a public health curriculum for students and parents
To establish a collaborative working relationship with local healthcare professionals so that continued care at the schools selected will be possible
To hold a knowledge exchange session with Can Tho University
