OUR MISSION

The mission of Hope For Tomorrow is to provide health care, human servies and educational assistance to underprivilige communities.

ABOUT US

Hope for Tomorrow (HOPE) is a non-profit 501(c3) organization dedicated to providing health-care, human services, and educational assistance to underprivileged communities. We work in collaboration with various groups and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to deliver humanitarian goods, services, and relief to impoverished regions. The team is comprised of professionals with a broad spectrum of experiences. The combined mission trips of our team span across North America, South America, South Africa, and South East Asia, bringing a variety of general and specialized disciplines to each region.

The HOPE Team’s initial medical mission project was to Phnom Penh, Cambodia in March 2005. The team collaborated with the World Health Ambassador (WHA) group, a program formed by the Vietnamese American Medical Association, to bring needed medical and dental care to six villages around Phnom Penh. Under intense heat and adverse conditions, HOPE and WHA served over 2,500 patients ranging in age from three to 85.

In November 2005, the HOPE Team collaborated with Vietnam Assistance for the Handicapped (VNAH) to bring a Medical, Dental, and Public Health mission to Da Nang, Vietnam. This medical mission provided treatments to over 2,700 students from first to fifth grades. The team served students at five elementary schools, delivering over 1,500 dental procedures and 500 medical examinations. The team also successfully introduced a public health program including basic and oral hygiene training for all students and their parents. Such training is intended to help reduce the risk of disease and infection over time.

In 2006-2007, the HOPE team provided grants to several non-profit organizations to conduct humanitarian works in Vietnam. In summary, HOPE provided the following:
  • November 2006: HOPE provided a $4,000 grant to Journey for Children of Falls Church, Virginia to help finance a dental mission to Binh Duong province, Vietnam and Tam Binh orphanage in Thu Duc. The Journey for Children team was able to screen several hundred students and provided needed dental care to those in need.
  • November 2006: HOPE provided a grant of $5,000 to Vietnam Assistance for the Handicapped (VNAH) to provide relief for victims of typhoon Xangsane along the DaNang coast and surrounding areas
  • March 2007: HOPE provided a $5,000 grant to the World Health Ambassador (WHA) of Fairfax, Virginia to help finance a medical mission to Can Tho, Vietnam. Over a 14-day period, approximately 1800 patients in six villages of the Co Do and Vinh Thanh districts received treatment in the local health-care clinics
  • March 2007: HOPE provided a grant of $500 to Dr. Doanh Doanh Lu of Saigon, Vietnam to help an HIV/AIDS patient obtain necessary medical treatment. Mrs. Mai, 28 years old, contracted AIDS from her husband. Her husband died last year. Mrs. Mai is recovering slowly. She is able to work and take care of her six year old son and elderly mother.

For 2008-2009, HOPE continues to provide assistance to orphanages in Vietnam, provide educational assistance to disadvantaged students and finance future medical mission trips. In particular, the Hope Team is focusing on two key projects: 1. Building a local community medical clinic in An Giang province, and 2. building an elementary school in Dak Nong province.

For the summer of 2008, the HOPE Team will be conducting a medical/dental mission to Dak Nong province, Vietnam. We hope you can join the HOPE Team on this upcoming mission. Your continued support of HOPE is greatly appreciated and we looking forward to seeing you in the near future. Fore more information, visit our website at www.my-hope.org.
